Democrats are normally the winners for governing board seats. Give them credit, they play the local game well. Some of their success is due to great messaging as noted above, but the problems arise when these board members rubber stamp every liberal agenda and expense without question. Not enough parents pay attention to the goings-on and the cycle repeats itself in subsequent elections. In Arizona, school board elections are nonpartisan, so most campaign messaging sounds exactly alike.
Behind the scenes, Save Our Schools is actively influencing school district personnel. We have emails from Save Our Schools to six employees and teachers in Tempe Union High School District. While some of the content is informative, much of it is political. Here are a few examples.
All of the candidates listed above are Democrats. It appears Save Our Schools Arizona is walking a fine line as a social welfare organization while they spend much of their time pushing candidates and politics.

Once again, only new Democrat lawmakers participated in the virtual meeting. If written now, the email would read “Former” Representative Jevin Hodge. What do you know, he resigned recently amid sexual allegations.
On April 6, 2024, Save Our Schools Arizona held a summit at Tempe High School. SOSAZ wrote in the contract they are a 501(c)4 non-profit.
Take a look at the organizations which were scheduled to participate.
Was the summit planned to encourage political activism for abortion and LGBTQ in schools? We know GLSEN helps set up gay clubs at schools without notifying parents. Arizona State Young Democrats sounds a little partisan for a “nonpartisan” organization. Arizona List and NOW exist only to trick women into abortions; it’s quite a lucrative business as indicated below.
As for some of the other participants in the Save Our Schools event, One N Ten grooms children towards the LGBTQ lifestyle. Brickroad Coffee supports abortion and Drag Shows. And Stand for Children hired the former Arizona Legislature’s LGTBTQ Caucus participant, Daniel Hernandez.
Speaking of abortion, Arizona List is also sending emails to Tempe Unified district employees.
Did Arizona List give away what really happened at the SOSAZ Summit two weeks ago? Was the day to help the community or push a political agenda?
Earlier this year, Arizona State Senator Justine Wadsack introduced a bill which would make school board races partisan. This would provide transparency for voters. There may have been a time when what the community felt was good for children was pretty consistent, but those days are gone. As we now know, unfortunately one political party has very strong ties with abortion and sexualizing children. Voters should know which party each governing board candidate associates with before casting their votes on election day. Unfortunately, the bill was vetoed by the occupant of The Ninth Floor.
A couple weeks ago, a local congressional campaign sent the following email to teachers at Fairfax High School in Phoenix Union.
Is it normal for candidates to contact teachers to recruit students? Is the (nonpartisan) Phoenix Union Governing Board okay with this? Would the board give this a pass if it was a Republican congressional candidate recruiting student volunteers in their district?
Here is a recent conversation between an activist from Higley and a former governing board member. This begs the question, if they are correct and non-profit funds can’t be used politically, what is Save Our Schools Arizona doing?
Voters, be careful this fall when casting your votes for your local governing board. Either ask the candidates directly or do your own research as to their political party and where they stand on abortion and transgender activism in public schools.
